Scott Naylor and Classmates Honor Dear Friend by Creating Scholarship in His Name

Scott Naylor ’75

Scott Naylor ’75 started at McDonogh in 1969—during the School’s military period— as a seventh-grade boarding student. Living on campus helped him create strong bonds with classmates, and those friendships have lasted a lifetime. “After graduation we went our separate ways, but the memories and brotherhood have been maintained through the love and respect that was established,” he says.

T. Patrick Dulany was a leader within the group. As the highest-ranking officer in eighth grade and class president as a senior, he embodied the spirit of the class—a spirit of purpose, determination, confidence, and togetherness. After Pat passed away, the class established a scholarship to honor the leader they had lost in recognition of their 45th reunion.

The T. Patrick Dulany Class of 1975 Scholarship Fund is designated to assist scholar-athletes involved in wrestling. Scott says, “The hope is that students will not only benefit from the McDonogh experience, but they will also build character through the sport of wrestling and develop the perseverance, dedication, and willingness that prepares one for the battles of life.”
